General John Stanford

John Stanford was one of the most amazing Americans of all time. He had an outstanding career in the Military where he retired honorably at a very high position.

After his military career ended he was hired by the Seattle School district to turn around a failing urban school system. Although Mr. Stanford had no previous experience as an educator, he achieved phenomenal results.

His take-charge attitude, and system for holding students, teachers, and principals accountable brought a remarkable outcome for the kids. Mr. Stanford spent the last couple of years in this position fighting a terminal case of Leukemia, which he ultimately lost.

However, he showed up in frail condition, with no hair, and fought to the very last day. He changed the Seattle Scholl District forever, and was a Hero who demonstrated both leadership and courage.

If you get a chance please read my article on “Improving America’s Education System” which you will find in “The Platform” section on the site. It contains links to John Stanford’s biography and memorial.

Mr. Stanford’s legacy is the steps he left us to use in schools everywhere to get noticeable results and improve the education for all our kids.
